The Shivers - Moon Casale
Moon Casale was born in 1984 in Chimayo, NM on the commune of a Catholic chapel called Sanctuario de Nuestro de Esquipulas. He grew up in the largely Hispanic church singing in the choir, often in Spanish. He spent his youth wandering the mountains of the New Mexican desert praising Jesus and howling at the moon with the wolves and coyotes. At 18, he set out for the big city, or in his case, Albuquerque. It was here things started to go downhill for Casale as he became involved in the drug scene - using and dealing. It wasn''t until his mentor, a priest from Chimayo, came down to Albuquerque, found Casale gaunt and living in squalor and brought him back to the church. With his life back on track and a renewed interest in music, Casale decided at age 24 to take a Greyhound bus across the country to the city of all cities and that of course is New York City.
He has spent the last 4 years developing his songwriting skills at open mic nights around the city, church events and singing in local choirs. He started driving as a chauffeur to pay the bills. This is Moon Casale''s debut album of his own compositions. Sober and with his faith restored, he hopes to take his songs around the world and change the way people think about contemporary Christian music.
